Multiple-Personality Disorder:
The Black Knight houses two "spirits," that of mercenary
Nathan and of the chivalrous Black Knight. During stress, either
personality may emerge over the other, and may or may not have access to
the knowledge the other personality possess.
Personal History:
Nathan Garrett, now in his early 40’s, was a former SAS commando who
eventually mustered out and proceeded to work as a mercenary of sorts. As
a pawn for an unremembered supervillain, he took up the identity as the
Black knight, a legendary figure in his family's history.
Later, he went to look for the tomb of the first Black knight, finding the
mystic ebony armor and ebony blade of his ancestor. Upon donning it,
however, the villain had turned into a hero with limited memory of his
past.
