During the early, dark days World War II, a sickly fellow with an indomitable will and love of the American ideal volunteered to be a human test subject for a covert military experiment. This e turned Steve Rogers into America's first Super-Soldier: Captain America!

Welcome to the Star-Spangled Site, a place to celebrate the legend of Captain America and it's related comic lore. Founded in 1993, it is the longest-running Captain America site on the WWW.

New!Captain America 1940's Daily Strip @ Marvel Digital!

The long-lost "Captain America" newspaper comic strips from the 1940s have recently been rediscovered, and they're making their digital debut this Sunday as a new daily strip on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. Written and illustrated by Karl Kesel with colors by Ben Dimagmaliw, the strip harkens back to the era of classic newspaper adventure strips like "The Phantom" and "Terry and the Pirates," offering readers a daily dose of the patriotic hero's earliest adventures. New!Avengers Relaunch News!

As the picture shows, Captain America - the James Barnes version - will be part of the re-launch of the Avengers come May 2010; at least I assume its the Bucky version as the quote makes no sense for Steve Rogers to use.

New!Movie News!

With the forthcoming release of the "Wolfman" movie from the same director as "Captain America: The First Avenger", expect more news items as it's that diector's next project. "It's that phase of the production where money doesn't matter: 'Let's put all the greatest stuff up on the wall and see what we can afford. We're going back to the '40s, and then forward to what they're doing with Captain America now." So, its basically Avengers #4 or (more likely) Ultimates #1.

New!Avengers Cartoon Artwork!

Avengers Cartoon ArtIn a Newsarama Chris Yost interview, they put up the first preview artwork i've seen for the forthcoming "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes", with a roster of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Ant Man, and Wasp. I wonder if we'll see some Wasperrection between now and the release of the cartoon or film (as its inconceivable that she won't be in the Avengers film as well, I should think).

New!Store Section Added!

If you've been looking for how to buy the ASSEMBLED and ASSEMBLED 2 volumes, look no further, True Belie... oh wait. I just used to work for Stan, I'm not actually Stan... In any case, the "Captain America Store" is up and running, even if its only for the ASSEMBLED volumes for the moment. Soon, I'll be adding Cap collections and other things available online, and perhaps some of my own collectables that I'm slowly getting rid of... I hate EBAY, and would rather the stuff go to good homes!
